Wellness Vaccination Programs

Our wellness and vaccinations programs are designed to prevent disease and prolong the lives of your pets. Disease prevention is always less costly than dealing with the treatment of a disease once your pet has developed it. Our vaccination programs are affordable and we use only the best vaccines available.

Early diagnosis of a disease process can lead to your pet living a longer, healthier life. Kidney disease, for example, if diagnosed early, will allow us to modify your pet’s diet and add supplements, if necessary, to potentially extend their lives. We also monitor pets diagnosed with diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and seizures. There are many other conditions to which an early diagnosis is advantageous.

Puppy Wellness

Our puppy wellness program is designed to offer your new puppy all the benefits of veterinary services available to him/or her from the initial deworming at three weeks, first vaccinations at 6 weeks, and to their final vaccinations at 15 weeks. Included in this service is a series of examinations and vaccinations including rabies, parvovirus, distemper, etc. In addition, your puppy will be tested for worms and treated. Some of the more common types of worms found in puppies are hookworms, whipworms and roundworms. Roundworms can cause gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting and/or diarrhea. There are other parasites that can cause similar symptoms and can cause your puppy to become anemic (low red blood cells). Coccidia and giardia are also parasites that we will look for when you bring your puppy in for his vaccinations and exam. All of these worms and parasites can be life threatening and should be treated as necessary. Many of these are invisible to the naked eye and must be diagnosed by examining the stool of your puppy microscopically.

Kitten Wellness

Our kitten wellness program is designed to offer your new kitten all the benefits of veterinary services available from the initial three week deworming, first vaccinations at 6 weeks, and to their final vaccination at 18 weeks. Included in this service is a series of examinations and vaccinations including rabies, panleukopenia, leukemia, etc. In addition, your kitten will be tested for worms and be treated for the most common intestinal worm of kittens – roundworms. Roundworms can cause your kitten to vomit and/or experience diarrhea; however, it is possible for your kitten to have roundworms and not show any signs of harboring the worms. A microscopic fecal examination will allow us to evaluate the presence of these worms. The examination will also look for other types of worms that can affect your kitten’s health and well-being.

We carry a complete line of deworming products and nutritional supplements for your livestock. We also provide required health certificates for livestock shows and travel.

Microchip Identification

Micro chipping has become a very popular and safe way to permanently identify your pet and you as the owner in the unfortunate case that your pet is lost. Micro chipping involves the placement of a small electronic chip the size and shape of a piece of rice just under the skin in the neck area. A needle is used to inject the chip. The injection is comparable to a regular vaccine injection. If your pet becomes lost and is transported to a humane shelter, the humane shelter employees will be able to scan your pet for the chip and contact you. The scanner is similar to a scanner found in the grocery store. We recommend that you use this system of identification as well as a collar identification system on your pet. If this interests you, please call us to arrange this procedure for your pet.
